Mental Health & Addictions Services
Mental Health and Addictions services offers Health Promotion and Prevention Services, and outpatient counselling and assessment services across the lifespan to individuals living in Central Newfoundland. We offer inpatient treatment for adults experiencing an acute mental health crisis and we are the home of the provinces only provincial treatment centre for youth experiencing substance use issues. We provide referrals to other agencies and community groups across the province as required.

Mental Health and Addictions triage is a process to provide quick assessment and timely access to an appropriate mental health and addictions health professional. Central Health's health professionals have backgrounds in social work, occupational therapy, nursing and psychology. Using this toll free triage line, persons needing mental health and addictions services can call to refer themselves. Health care providers or other referral sources may continue to refer clients through mail, fax or phone
(Available 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday).

Provincial Mental Health Crisis Line - 811
The Provincial Mental Health Crisis Line is offered by the Mental Health and Addictions Division of NL Health and Community Services. The division works in partnership with the four regional health authorities, various community groups, the provincial Mental Health and Addictions Advisory Council, as well as other stakeholders in Newfoundland and Labrador.
