While staff continue to focus on the needs of residents, visitors are not permitted at this time.

If you have family members at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre, and have questions about these visitation precautions, please call (709) 885-2359 and ask to speak with the charge nurse.

Central Health recognizes the importance of family and friend visits, and thanks you for your understanding and assistance in preventing the spread of this illness.

An update will be provided to the public once the Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre in Harbour Breton is once again welcoming visitors.



Background information

Gastrointestinal illness can occur year-round, although it's more common in fall and winter. Common symptoms include diarrhea and/or vomiting, and may be accompanied by muscle aches and low-grade fever. This illness can be debilitating for the very young, the very old and those with compromised immune systems.
