Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers at all sites within Central Health are provided with:
- A choice of programs and flexibility in scheduling
- A smoke free and scent free environment
- Orientation, training and staff support
- References for employment, scholarship and bursaries
Central Health currently offers opportunities in the following volunteer programs:
- Assigned one-to-one programs with clients
- Friendly visiting
- Assisting and or conducting recreation programs and community outings
- Assist with organizing special events
- Meal Assistance Program
- Card and board games/woodworking/crafts
- Musical entertainment (traditional Newfoundland music and/or Gospel)
- Horticultural programs both inside and outside during the summer
- Bible Study group (Monthly rotation)
- Delivering Meals and night Lunches
- Entertainment Volunteers (on a scheduled Basis 4 to 6 weeks)
- Bus Outing volunteers (available to on the bus to assist)
- Decorating Volunteers (early in December decorating sites and resident rooms for Christmas, assisting in gift wrapping and assisting with the purchasing and stuffing resident Christmas stockings)
- Assist in fundraising events
- Art Program (From Painting with Easel and Brush to Finger painting)
