Central Health would like to advise that COVID-19 testing will continue in Lewisporte on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 8:00am – 6:00pm at the Salvation Army Church. Appointment timeslots are filled up to 1:00pm. Drop-in testing is available from 1:00pm – 6:00pm. This is for anyone with or without symptoms who has not been directly contacted by public health.
When you arrive, you will receive a PCR test, with a result typically available 24-48 hours later. If your test is positive, you will be contacted by public health.
You do not need to self-isolate while waiting for results unless you have symptoms.
This broader testing is part of the public health investigation to identify people who may not be aware that they have COVID-19. Being tested is an opportunity to help protect the health of all residents.
We will continue to provide information as more clinics are booked throughout the week.
Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures including wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, staying home as much as possible, avoiding entering stores or establishments outside the community and avoid holding gatherings for the time being.
