Additional vaccination appointments in Grand Falls-Windsor

Central Health would like to advise that there are additional mRNA (Moderna or Pfizer) vaccination appointments available now in Grand Falls-Windsor at the Windsor Pentecostal Church on Monday, June 28.

To book an appointment for the Grand Falls-Windsor vaccination clinic on June 28th, click here or call 1-833-961-3749.

These clinics are for individuals that had their first dose at least 8 weeks ago and have not yet secured a second dose appt.

To book a first dose, please use the following link: https://portal.healthmyself.net/nlcentralhealth/forms/GEg

Individuals who had Moderna, Pfizer, or AZ as a first dose can book into this clinic as long as their first dose was given at least 8 weeks prior.

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization has determined that using a different vaccine for second doses is safe and effective. The most important thing is to get your second dose as soon as possible. Do not delay receiving your second dose just to get the same vaccine you received for your first dose.

• If you received AstraZenca as your first dose, you can receive AstraZeneca, Moderna or Pfizer as your second dose.

• If you received an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as your first dose, you can receive either Pfizer or Moderna for your second dose. These are both very similar and can be interchanged.

• Children aged 12-17 will receive Pfizer.

Individuals will know when the clinics are full when there are no longer any available appointment slots available in the online system. If an appointment is no longer available in the community/clinic of choice, more clinics will be available in the future. However, people should continue to check Central Health’s website as we are continuing to add clinics weekly.

You should not schedule an appointment for a vaccine if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Instead, complete a COVID-19 Assessment and referral by clicking here.

While waiting for your opportunity for vaccination, and after vaccination, it is important for everyone to continue to follow public health guidance to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your communities including:

· Wearing a mask in public

· Washing your hands frequently

· Respecting public health guidance on gatherings, travel and quarantine

· Completing the online self-assessment at https://www.811healthline.ca/ or calling 811 if you are experiencing one or more symptoms of COVID-19 to arrange testing.

Central Health will continue to communicate as additional vaccine information becomes available and more clinics are set up. For more information on COVID-19 vaccines, please visit Health Canada. For up-to-date information on the COVID-19 pandemic, please visit www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19.
