Central Health would like to advise that it is updating its automated phoneline messaging systems in health facilities throughout the region.
When Implemented those calling a Central Health facility to access Emergency and Ambulance Services will now be directed to call 911. This will create a standardized process for Emergency and Ambulance Services access within the central region.
Currently, 7 healthcare facilities have been updated with the new messaging advising callers to call 911 for Emergency and Ambulance Services:
Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre – Baie Verte
Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre – Harbour Breton
Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre – Botwood
Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre – New-Wes-Valley
Green Bay Health Centre – Springdale
North Haven Manor/After-Hours Clinic – Lewisporte
Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre – Twillingate
The addition of the remaining Central Health facilities is forthcoming and an update will be provided when completed.
In the case of emergency, Central Health recommends calling 911 or proceeding to the nearest emergency room for immediate assistance.
Central Health thanks the public for their patience and cooperation as we incorporate this change.
