Central Health would like to advise that as of 6:00 p.m. today the temporary COVID-19 testing clinic in Gander will conclude.
This temporary clinic was set up as part of the Public Health investigation to help determine whether there has been transmission of the COVID-19 virus within the region. Being tested is an opportunity to help protect the health of all residents.
Following the closure of the temporary testing clinic:
Individuals with symptoms should continue to use the online COVID-19 screening tool OR call 811 to book appointments as they did previously.
Individuals without symptoms will no longer be eligible for testing unless they are specifically identified by Public Health, for example, contacts of someone who is positive or rotational workers.
Central Health would like to thank the residents of Gander and surrounding areas for their continued patience and cooperation.
Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures including wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, staying home as much as possible and avoid holding gatherings for the time being.
