Diversion of Emergency Services at the Bay d’Espoir Community Health Centre

Central Health would like to advise that effective 8:00 am on Monday, June 1, 2020, there will be a diversion of emergency services at the Bay d’Espoir Community Health Centre (BDECHC). The service diversion is due to a current unavailability of physician services. All non-emergency services, such as Nurse Practitioner clinics will continue as normal. Lab and X-ray services will continue by appointment only. The current virtual care options will continue to be offered from the clinic during this time and for an appointment, please call (709) 538-3244.

The BDECHC provides clinics and emergency services to residents of the Bay d’Espoir area which encompasses six communities from Morrisville to St Alban’s. During this diversion, emergent patients will receive care at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre in Harbour Breton. Patients that do not arrive by ambulance will also have the option of travelling to the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center (CNRHC) in Grand Falls-Windsor to receive care. If you are travelling via personal vehicle to the emergency department, please call ahead.

In case of emergency, residents can all the emergency department at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre in Harbour Breton at (709) 885-2401.

We apologize for this interruption of service and thank the public for their understanding and patience as we continue to focus on providing safe and quality care for the residents of the Bay d’Espoir area.
