Temporary shortage of physician services at Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre

Central Health would like to advise residents of the Baie Verte Peninsula and surrounding area that we are currently experiencing a temporary strain on physician availability due to certification exams and unexpected medical absence.

While there will be no disruption in emergency services, clinic services will be limited. We expect that the usual level of physician services will resume on October 16, 2020 in Baie Verte.

During this time, rest assured that medical emergencies will continue to be provided through the Emergency Department. Other less urgent matters can be attended to through the limited clinic service and we ask that routine appointments be booked for later in the month, once normal operations are resumed.

Residents with non-emergent medical issues can call the Health Hub, formerly known as Non-Emergent Assessment Clinic (NEAC) and set up a virtual care appointment with a physician or nurse practitioner. If an in-person assessment is required, arrangements will be made.

To reach the Health Hub closest to you, please call the Gander Medical Clinic at 709-381-0112 or 709-381-0338 and the Killick Clinic in Grand Falls-Windsor at 709-292-8404. Clinics will be open on weekdays from 8:00am to 8:00pm and weekends from 12:00pm – 6:00pm.

Central Health thanks you for you understanding, patience and cooperation.
