UPDATE: Central Health wraps up Rapid Testing Clinic in Grand Falls-Windsor

Central Health would like to advise that effective 4:00pm today, the Rapid Testing Clinic in Grand Falls - Windsor will conclude and no further appointments will be booked.

This temporary rapid antigen testing clinic for general asymptomatic testing is part of its ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you to all who booked appointments for the clinic to be tested. This will allow us to attain a large sample size of test results for the region.

Antigen tests are a way to look for the part of the virus that triggers the body's immune response. This type of testing can help us detect COVID-19 in people who do not have symptoms and limit the potential spread of the virus. It is a "snapshot" and will inform future testing throughout the region.

People who get a general asymptomatic test are not required to self-isolate while waiting for their test or results. People who receive a negative test result must continue to follow public health measures and if they develop symptoms, immediately self-isolate and complete the COVID-19 self-assessment.

Anyone experiencing one or more symptoms of COVID-19 is asked to complete the online self-assessment and referral tool at www.811healthline.ca or call the NL Health Line 811 to arrange testing.
