Central Health would like to advise that all timeslots for COVID-19 testing in Lewisporte on Monday, May 24, 2021 are full. Those who did not receive their test on Sunday have been given a number and will be given instruction when to return to get tested. If you did not receive a number on Sunday, we kindly request that you do not present for testing tomorrow (Monday, May 24) as all timeslots are full. There will be more clinics scheduled in the week with additional opportunities for testing. We will issue public service announcements with details on the additional clinics.
We understand many of people attending today waited for a long time. We apologize for the wait time and thank you for your patience.
This broader testing is part of the public health investigation to determine how community members may have acquired their infection with the COVID-19 virus. Being tested is an opportunity to help protect the health of all residents.
Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures including wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, staying home as much as possible, avoiding entering stores or establishments outside the community and avoid holding gatherings for the time being.
