Due to a temporary physician shortage at the Lewisporte Health Centre in Lewisporte Central Health will be offering Virtual ER services at the Lewisporte Health Centre effective September 27, 2021.
Virtual ER services will be available at the Lewisporte Health Centre from 8:00 pm – 8:00 am:
· September 27 - September 28
· October 4 – October 5
· October 7
· October 11
If residents require emergency services during this time, they are advised to call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room where they will be seen. During this time, individuals presenting to the Lewisporte Health Centre may be assessed through a virtual emergency room service. For more on Virtual ERs please click here.
Central Health continues in its recruitment efforts to ensure the provision of safe and sustainable care across the region.
The Regional Health Authority continues to be proactive in its search to find physician support for Lewisporte Health Centre. Central Health continues its efforts in recruitment for this area for both physicians and non-physician healthcare workers. Central Health has been engaging physicians directly about potential opportunities and is working with a recruitment firm to assist in its search for physicians.
