Echocardiology
An echocardiogram or cardiac echo is an ultrasound of the heart. Echocardiography is used to diagnose cardiovascular diseases. It can also provide a wealth of helpful information, including the size and shape of the heart, its pumping capacity and the location and extent of damage to its tissues. It is either performed by cardiac sonographers or physicians trained in cardiology.

Location
Echocardiography is located on the first floor of the Cardiopulmonary services area at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor and the first floor (downstairs) at James Paton Memorial Health Centre in Gander.
