Central Health Offers Appointment-Only Influenza Vaccination Clinics

October 14, 2022

Central Health advises that influenza vaccination clinics will begin on Monday, Oct. 17th, 2022

Flu clinics are by appointment only. Appointments can be made online at the Time for the Shot website. Residents can also book an appointment by calling toll-free 1-833-951-3904.

Walk-in appointments will be available in the coming weeks. Updates will be posted regarding additional appointments and walk-in options, as the information becomes available.

Residents can also receive their shots through their family physician or local pharmacy free-of-charge.

Everyone above the age of six months should get the flu shot annually, particularly those who are at increased risk for complications from influenza, and those in close contact with these individuals. Getting vaccinated will help reduce the spread of influenza in our communities and help reduce the impact on the health-care system.

Those entering clinics will be required to wear a mask and observe good infection prevention and control practices such as:

  • Washing your hands often.

  • Practicing proper cough and sneeze etiquette.

  • Covering your mouth and nose with your arm when coughing and sneezing and immediately dispose of used tissues in the trash.

  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

Central Health reminds the public to arrive for their appointment no earlier than ten minutes in advance, to bring their MCP card, and to wear a short-sleeved shirt.

A full listing of flu clinics will be posted on the Central Health website at https://www.centralhealth.nl.ca/vaccination-schedule.
