COVID-19 testing clinic in Harbour Breton

Starting today Thursday, December 10th, residents of Harbour Breton, with or without symptoms, are encouraged to contact 811 and arrange testing for COVID-19.


This broader testing is part of the public health investigation to determine how community members may have acquired their infection with the COVID-19 virus. Being tested is an opportunity to help protect the health of all residents.


Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures including wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, staying home as much as possible, avoiding entering stores or establishments outside the community and avoid holding gatherings for the time being.

Central Heath would like to advise that starting Wednesday, December 9, residents of Harbour Breton who fall within the categories listed below can book appointments for COVID-19 testing through 811.


Testing is available for people who:

  • have travelled outside of Newfoundland and Labrador since November 9th, 2020. If that travel was outside of Canada, please advise 811 when you call.

  • have symptoms that meet criteria on the online COVID-19 assessment or through 811.

If you feel you need to be tested, please call 811 to book your appointment. Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures including wearing masks, stay home as much as possible, avoid entering stores or establishments outside the community and avoid holding gatherings for the time being. Also, please keep practicing good hand hygiene and complete the COVID-19 self-assessment if you have symptoms.
