Central Health is advising the public that only emergency services will be proceeding on Monday, November 1, 2021 as a result of a province-wide IT outage affecting some of its computer systems. All booked appointments taking place in a Central Health facility will be cancelled for November 1st, 2021. Further updates will follow as the situation evolves. A patient inquiry line has been set up. Patients may not be contacted directly to have their appointments rescheduled, as patient contact information may not be accessible at this time. Patients who have any questions regarding appointments, procedures and surgeries scheduled for Monday, November 1, 2021 may call 1-844-651-6214.
The following services will proceed tomorrow, Monday, November 1, 2021:
In-person dialysis at all locations throughout the region will continue
Only emergency community-based services will continue
All Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination clinics will proceed as scheduled
Some patients attend appointments at private doctor’s clinics. Those patients are encouraged to check with their individual doctor’s offices if they have questions. While Emergency services in our facilities will continue to operate, please be advised there may be longer wait times.
Individuals who may require assistance are advised to call the 811 healthline, call their primary care provider’s office or, for emergencies, proceed to the nearest emergency department. Updates will be provided as information becomes available via Central Health website at www.centralhealth.nl.ca and social media platforms Facebook (www.facebook.com/CentralHealthNL) and Twitter (@CentralHealthNL). Central Health continues to implement back-up plans and is focused on the delivery of emergency care as the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (NLCHI) works to resolve the situation in collaboration with Bell Aliant, the managed service provider, the Department of Health and Community Services and other regional health authorities.
Central Health apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks you for your patience. We will continue to provide updates as they are available.
