March 11, 2022
As the province prepares to lift COVID-19 restrictions in Newfoundland and Labrador on March 14, 2022, Central Health’s Laboratory Medicine Program would like to provide its clients and their families with an update on Outpatient Laboratory Collection Services for the Central Health region.
Please note that as of Monday, March 14, 2022:
Central Health intends to reintroduce walk-in opportunities, but there will be a transition period, so as of March 14, the present model will continue.
Appointment-based approach will remain in place for Central Health Laboratories. Appointments already booked will continue to prevent delays/interruptions for the client.
As transition to walk-in’s becomes available, walk-in opportunities will be communicated to the public. Please note, there is limited capacity for walk-in’s during the transition period, given appointments have been currently booked.
Current methods to book an appointment remain in place.
Please click here for information on how to book an Outpatient Laboratory appointment.
Collection services for laboratory requests will be assessed with steps taken to accommodate walk-ins, in some capacity, in the future.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the information listed in the update above, please reach out to Central Health’s client navigator at 1-844-651-6214.
We thank you for your patience as we work through a high volume of calls. Let’s work together to ensure we show kindness and respect in every interaction, in all clinics, hospitals and health care facilities across the region.
