Diagnostic Neurophysiology

The Electroneurophysiology Department provides electrodiagnostic testing on both the peripheral and central nervous systems.  Electroneurophysiology Technologists work closely with staff neurologists at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre to help diagnose various neurological disorders.

 

Neurologist services are also provided at James Paton Memorial Hospital and may be accessed through the normal physician consult process.

The diagnostic testing provided includes:

  • Electroencephalography (EEG) - used chiefly in the diagnosis of seizures/epilepsy (CNRHC only)

  • Electromyography (EMG)/Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) - used mainly in the diagnosis of peripheral nerve disorders and injuries

 

Hours of Operation:

Monday to Friday (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

 

Location:

Diagnostic Neurophysiology is located on the first floor in the Cardiopulmonary Services area in the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre.
